How do I use my new Cyber-Tone™?

  • Slide the power switch to on (towards E) to turn on your Cyber-Tone™
  • To play a tone, press and hold the button representing the tone you desire to hear. When released, your Cyber-Tone™ will stop playing. The Cyber-Tone™ Electronic Pitch Pipe will only play one note at a time.
  • When the switch is in the OFF position (towards F) your Cyber-Tone™ will not make any sounds or respond to any button presses.
  • Each Cyber-Tone™ is built with tactile aids next to every pitch button allowing you to play the desired note purely by feel. As you use your Cyber-Tone™ over time, you will become familiar with these tactile features and have the confidence to use your Cyber-Tone™ strictly by feel.
How to I adjust the range of my Cyber-Tone™?

Your Cyber-Tone™ Electronic Pitch Pipe is factory configured to offer the familiar “reed-style” tone in the standard F4 to E5 range, and it gives you the ability to customize the range to your preference with a few easy steps

  • Press and Hold “F” and “C” for 3 or more seconds, then release. (Count to 5)
  • Press and release any one of the buttons corresponding to the lowest note. Verify you are satisfied with the range then turn OFF your Cyber-Tone™ to save the settings. Your Cyber-Tone™ will play as shown below
  • Note 1: When holding more than one button at a time, no tone will play. When pressing the selected button to establish the range, this will not produce a sound. This allows you to change the range without making any sounds
  • Note 2: Be sure that you turn off your Cyber-Tone™ after you have changed the range. This will save the settings. Otherwise the Cyber-Tone™ will revert back to the last setting after several minutes.

How do I check my Cyber-Tone’s™ Battery Level?

Your Cyber-Tone™ is extremely efficient and equipped with a rechargeable battery that should last for weeks in between charges. How do I enable the Sticky Tone™ Feature:

Your Cyber-Tone™ Electronic Pitch Pipe is equipped to hold a note for about 5 minutes or until turned off. This feature is useful for tuning an instrument or to help ground your singing group to a key in order to keep from going out of tune during a particularly difficult piece of music. To turn on Sticky Tone™:

  • Quickly press the desired tone 5 times. This mode will play this note for up to 5 minutes or until the power switch is moved to the “Off” position
I heard that Cyber-Tone™ allows the user to adjust each pitch individually. How do I enable Micro-Tuning™?

Your Cyber-Tone™ Electronic Pitch Pipe is tuned from the factory in perfect equal temperament A=440 Hz. There may be certain instances where you want to play a note that is slightly adjusted, either a bit sharper or a bit flatter. Cyber-Tone give you the ability to individually tune each note to within 1/100th of a semitone or cent. For example, many orchestras will tune to A=442 Hz, which is 8 cents above A= 440 Hz. You can Micro-Tune™ each note of your Cyber-Tone™. So for example A could be 8 cents sharper and A# could be 15 cents flatter and so on for each note. Multiple Cyber-Tone’s™ tuned to the same value will be perfectly in tune together, but be careful, you’ve just redefined that note on your Cyber-Tone™. To Micro-tune™ any pitch on your Cyber-tone™ follow these steps:

  • Enter Sticky Tone™ mode for the note you wish to tune. Quickly press the desired tone 5 times.
  • Hold “F” and “E” for 3 seconds, then release
  • “F” will raise pitch one cent
  • “F#” will raise pitch by 10 cents
  • “E” will lower pitch one cent
  • “E♭” will lower pitch by 10 cents

To exit Micro-tuning™ mode, slide the power switch to off this will save those settings until you decide to change them in the future. Your Cyber-Tone™ will now remember the new pitch for this note. To adjust more notes, simply repeat the process for any note on your Cyber-Tone™

  • Note 1: Holding “F”, “A”, “C”, and “E” together for 3 or more seconds with your Cyber-Tone™ on, but not playing anything will reset all notes back to factory tuning. You’ll want to turn it off to save the settings.
  • Note 2: The most a Cyber-Tone™ allows a note to be tuned flat or sharp is by 100 cents. If you get lost, tune all the way to one side or the other being 100 cents flat or sharp, then adjust from this known position. Or simply reset all notes back to factory tuning
  • For example if you are 95 cents sharp and hit +10 it will stop adjusting tuning at 100 cents sharp, then hit “E♭”ten times to get back to zero.

How do I reset my Cyber-Tone™ back to its original factory settings?

To reset your Cyber-Tone™ Pitch Pipe back to its original factory settings, including all Micro-tuning™, Perfect Pitch Metronome™ tempo, and custom range, simply hold “F”, “A”, “C”, “E” together for 3 seconds (we recommend you count to 5), then turn your Cyber-Tone off and it will overwrite any customizations back to the factory settings.

Note: Turning off your Cyber-Tone™ will save the settings you just changed. If you do not turn off the Cyber-Tone™ it will revert to your previous settings in a few minutes.
