I have used several pitch pipes over the 47 years I've been singing barbershop. Beginning with the original "cookie" that if you wanted more than one for a chorus, you would need to test them to be sure they matched. Then to one of the first electronic models that was to large to fit some pockets and was so heavy could cause costumes not to hang straight. Now to this very light and dependable model. The Cyber-Tone is not only light weight, is easy to read plus has small indicators for letters that in the dark can help to find the correct button.

Have had mine for a few months now and it gets a lot of attention. We used to have “pitch” wars with everyone claiming that their old reed pipe was correct. Was tired of hearing it and saw the Cyber-Tone. My dream, other than my wife, come true. No further pitch discussions. The guys get a laugh out of it because of my modification.(See Photo) We are a small chorus so the volume was a bit more than we needed. With the quartet the modification works even better to keep the sound level that is just perfect. Only thing missing is a printable instruction manual. You won’t be sorry if you purchase one. The case is really well engineered to protect the pipe also.

In my quartet’s first contest, our baritone was worried about blowing the pitch, and then getting a quality breath to start the song. Cyber tone fixed that with a push of a button! And we absolutely love performance mode, allowing us to turn off the pitches that we won’t be using so there will be no accidental wrong pitches.

We have used the Tombo as our pitch pipe for many years, so this was a big step for our chorus. We bought two and have been using them for a few months now. What a revelation! Once our pitch blowers got used to using them, they fell in love with them and so did the chorus. A clear, accurate sound that everyone can hear, no matter how far away they are. We are converted!
